Designed for Acoustical Analysis

This application caters specifically to acoustics work, featuring normalized octaves to ensure a precise display, maintaining a flat line for pink noise. Users have the flexibility to adjust both graph smoothing levels and decay times to achieve their desired level of detail. Additionally, users can control the dB resolution and frequency range displayed on the graph.

Includes Signal Generator

Included within this app is the engine from the Generator app, offering a low-distortion, artifact-free signal generator. When activated, the signal generator displays as a heads-up interface allowing users to observe the graph while adjusting settings. Real-time generation of sine waves, square waves (within defined limits), white noise, and pink noise is facilitated through high-precision algorithms.

Cursor Readout

The app enables users to slide their finger across the screen to obtain precise dB levels and frequencies with the cursor readout functionality.

Touch-GUI Controls

The app supports touch-GUI controls, allowing users to expand the dB scale with a vertical pinch-open gesture and enlarge the frequency scale with a horizontal pinch-open gesture.

Graph Smoothing

Users can smooth graphs by octave, 1/3, 1/6, 1/12, or 1/24 octaves. Additionally, they can adjust decay times from 0.5 seconds for real-time display feedback up to 8 seconds. Peak Hold or Average mode options are available, with Average mode providing a true equal-weighted average for continuous operation.

Peak Tracking

Peak Tracking functionality automatically identifies and labels the frequency of the highest peak on the graph.

Tune the Parameters

Users can adjust FFT size from 4096 to 32k points (depending on iOS device), incorporating Equal Points Per Octave mode for high-resolution analysis even at lower frequencies.

Calibration

The app arrives pre-calibrated for common iPad, iPod touch, or iPhone microphones, with provisions for further calibration adjustments. Microphone compensation files tailored to each iOS device are automatically applied.

Save and Recall

Post-analysis of data allows users to save the graph image to their photo roll for report inclusion or export data in an XLS file format.

Display Multiple Graphs

Users can present a recalled graph in varying colors on-screen.

Difference Mode

A Difference Mode feature allows users to utilize a stored baseline graph that is subtracted from the current graph in real time.
